Sanjay, Arshad out of 'Munnabhai' series?

Munnabhai and Circuit are ready to get a makeover. In fact, they might change completely in the third part in the series. 

As things stand today, Sanjay Dutt (who turns 52 today) and Arshad Warsi might not return with the next Munnabhai film, revealed a source close to the film. In fact, it seems, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra wants a complete makeover for his superhit franchise. This despite the stars being the main reason behind the film being successful.

Explaining the filmmaker's change of heart, the source added, "Sanjay and Arshad looked very different in 2006. by the time the third part is ready, it could be another two years. Keeping this in mind, a fresh and young cast is being considered for the two male leads."

The source further revealed, that it's not just the cast that's being discussed. Rajkumar Hirani might not hold the directorial reins either. A source close to Hirani said, "Hirani has finished writing his super script which he refers to as his dream project. Naturally, it will be with a big hero. He is fast working out the cast."

However, the director might co-produce the same. According to the source, "Rajkumar Hirani is very close to the Munnabhai series. Even if he doesn't direct the third, he will be attached to the project in some way. He might co-produce it with a completely new director."

So producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is now fast looking for a new director to shoulder the responsibility of the third film in the superhit franchise. Mumbai Mirror, on July 11, reported that the Do Dooni Chaar director Habib Faisal might step into Hirani's shoes. And now, we hear that the producer has approached Kites director Anurag Basu for the same.

"However, Basu's inclusion is a bit unlikely as he is very busy with Barfee for UTV. Hence, Faisal is the most likely selection. Vidhu has a fabulous equation with Faisal as well, which might work to Faisal'as advantage," added our source.

The third film in the Munnabhai series was supposed to be Munnabhai Chale Amerika. In 2006, an excited Arshad Warsi aka Circuit had confirmed to section of the media, saying, "Munnabhai Chale Amerika will go on floors next year and we'll start shooting then." A few trailers had also been shot for the project with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.

"The Munnabhai Chale Amerika script has been dropped. Something different has been envisaged for the third part. The script will be ready soon. An official announcement will be made soon in this regard," says the source.

Last time when we had asked him, Hirani had shot back saying, "I am writing it and will direct it as and when the script is ready." 17 days later, the scenario has changed. This time, he did not revert back. Vidhu Vinod Chopra also remained unavailable for comment.

Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan are super happy

Abhishek and Aishwarya are finally going to be parents, after four years of marriage. Unable to contain his joy, the Big B had proudly announced the joyful tidings on a micro-blogging site. 

Soon after, everyone who knew the Bachchans was on phone talking with one or the other member of the family. Close friends just dropped in at Jalsa in Mumbai.

"It's been crazy," Abhishek admitted late in the night. "We've all been trying to inform all our close friends about it. How do I feel? It's not sunk in yet. There's been no time. We're still busy sharing the news with our friends. The realization will come later. Right now I'm, kind of, numb. It's a big moment, yes."

As usual, the most restrained and controlled member of the Bachchan household was Jaya. Rather than get into the bustle of celebrations, she has already started thinking of practical matters.

Given the chance, the Bachchans would've liked to keep it quiet as long as possible."I guess it couldn't be kept quiet. So now you know why I've been trying to stay out of the public eye lately. It's still to sink in, really. Of course, Abhishek and I are super happy. But it is a matter of happiness for our entire family. And that makes all the difference," said Aishwarya.

Abhishek tells a great anecdote on his and his wife's unfazed attitude towards all the 'worried' queries about their parenthood. While waiting at an international airport for a connecting flight, the two were confronted by a boisterous middle-aged Punjabi woman. "So when do we hear the happy announcement?" said the woman conversationally.

Before Aishwarya could answer, Abhishek held the lady by the shoulder, "The happy announcement just happened. Your flight is ready for boarding." The anecdote typifies that complete lack of anxiety that the couple and its family felt about Aishwarya's imminent motherhood.

And now when it has happened, Aishwarya intends to quickly finish her only film on the floors, Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine and then take a long sabbatical. 

Sanjay bonds with Salman, Ajay

When you're at the top of your game, the only friends you make tend to be fairweather ones. Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan could lay claim to be the exception to that rule. 

The three are friends and are becoming closer by the day. While Salman has been tweeting pictures of Ajay's next action thriller, AJ has posted a picture of Dutt in his Agneepath avatar on his phone and has called it Rockstar Returns. Says a source close to Ajay, "Forget being insecure about each other, the three actors support each other's films and happy in sharing the success when their films become hits. In fact if all goes well, the three actors should be coming together to work in a film."

Salman admits making love blunders

It is not a very easy task to get Salman Khan into the confession mode and talk about his personal life. 

And when questions revolve around his love relationships - past and present - expect the Khan to trickily steer away from them all. However, in a recent interview on a rare day, Salman Khan decided to open up and answer all the questions coming his way.

When asked about his love life, the breakups and the numerous link-ups, Khan said, "All the girls that I have dated were very good. They not only looked beautiful but were also beautiful people. The problem lied with me."

Taking all the blame for the broken love relationships, Salman said, "I am a very difficult person to handle. I am to be blamed for all my breakups." Though Salman confessed that he has learnt from his past, he declared that getting hooked is not in his agenda for now.

It seems the hunk is not ready as yet to let go of his Bachelor status!
